Matthew Schmitz
Matthew Schmitz joined Craters & Freighters in 2013. As President/CFO, he works closely with the COO on issues affecting day-to-day operations and with the CEO on the company’s strategic direction.
Matthew oversees the company’s financials including budget development, leveraging his education, business experience, and marketing knowledge to move the corporate office and franchise locations forward.
Previously, Matthew was Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Rocky Mountain Clothing Company. There he revitalized sales of its heritage brands, established international distribution channels, realigned sales and marketing, and streamlined the company’s advertising.
Matthew holds a BA in Economics and an MBA with a concentration in finance from the University of Colorado.
Outside of work, you will find him spending time with his two sons. He often says his most cherished title is “Dad.” Matthew enjoys skiing, mountain biking, and rock climbing. He also is passionate about helping bring awareness to the importance of mental health and destigmatizing mental illness.
